Classes

Math 107Mathematical Models & Applications - applications of contemporary mathemathics for liberal arts students. It includes networks, scheduling, voting and fair division methods, and data analysis. Prerequisite: Placement by assessment, of MATH 99 with a C- or better.
Math 120Precalculus II - Functions as intensive preparation for the MATH 124, 125, 126 sequence. It includes functional trigonometry; polar coordinates; translation and rotation of axes, as well as plane analytical geometry; lines and planes in space; quadric surfaces and non-linear systems. Prerequisite: MATH 105 or "B" average in 3.5 years of high school math.
Math 124Calculus I - Introduces the ideas of limits, derivatives and integrals. It includes techniques and applications of derivatives of algebraic and transcendental functions, and it begins the concept of an antiderivative. Prerequisite: MATH 120 or "B" average in 4 years of high school mathematics.
Math 125Calculus II - Continues the study of integration and emphasizes applications and specialtechniques of integration. Transcendental functions are included. Prerequisite: MATH 124.
Math 126Calculus III - Emphasizes the study of infinite sequences and series including power series. It includes plane analytical geometry, graphing in polar coordinates, and an introduction to vectors. Prerequisite: MATH 125.
Math 227Several Variable Calculus - Extends the concepts of calculus to vector-valued functions and functions of several variables. Partial derivatives are included. Prerequisite: MATH 125.
