Travel
Fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness. (Mark Twain)

I have followed my wife, Kathy, to England, Ireland, Scandinavia, Western Europe, and New Zealand; tongue-wrestled in French, German and Italian eateries; met some fascinating people and life-long friends; and seen lessons from high school history leap free of their textbook bindings. My work with the MAA has allowed me to explore a fair bit of the good old USA, often piggy-backing business and vacation. When I reminisce about trips, though, two stand out -- one foreign, the other domestic.
